Yes, that's a typical wear pattern for slurry or sandy water. We usually start by looking at how the wear is distributed - if it's concentrated on the vane leading edges, a harder material or a local surface treatment can make a big difference. For standard cast iron, we can apply a wear-resistant coating on the vanes. For heavier wear, we might recommend a high-chrome iron or a duplex stainless, depending on the fluid and whether corrosion is also a factor. We'll also check the vane thickness and passage design; sometimes adding a bit of material where the erosion is worst extends life more than changing alloys.
