A: Yes, that's something we handle regularly. If you have an existing fitting or a flange drawing, send it over and we'll match the dimensions, bolt hole pattern, and pressure rating. We can also work on site measurements if a drawing isn't available. Casting gives us the flexibility to make small adjustments to wall thickness or flange geometry without having to start from scratch, so matching an older system is very doable. We'll usually make one sample first for you to confirm fit-up before we run the rest of the batch.
Q: How do we decide between hot-dip galvanizing and asphalt coating for corrosion protection?

A: It depends mainly on the environment the fitting will sit in. Hot-dip galvanizing gives a harder, more uniform zinc layer and works well for above-ground installations, humid areas, or where the fitting might get scratched during handling. Asphalt coating is more common for buried pipe, especially in soil with mild to moderate corrosion. It's also less expensive and quicker to apply. If you're not sure, tell us where the fittings are going - underground, indoors, exposed to weather - and we'll recommend the option that makes the most practical sense. For special conditions, we can also look at other coatings or linings.
